i am trying to install an app under Mandriva Free 2006 ./config or make will not work?, all so i need to know howto configure dial up/modem under Mandriva Free 2006 .

you're asking about two totally different things... compiling software is unrelated to making a dialup connection. sure you're compiling a dialer or something, but they're still irrelevant to one another.

we can't help unless you bother to give us useful information about your situation.. what errors are you getting?? you are running "./configure" and not "./config" yes? if no, then run the right command. running the right commands is recommended ;-)
as for dial up.. what modem is it? what desktop environment do you prefer? we are not psychic.
