i can't get the boot screen to work on mandrake 10.1 or suse 9.1which i previously installed on my computer. I find it very boring staring at all those commands when i could be looking at some awesome boot screen.
So you want your bootsplash back. Would be interesting to know what you did to make it disappear. Sometimes this happens when you change the resolution settings. You may need to create a new initrd to include a bootsplash at the correct resolution. Otherwise try to add the option splash=silent or splash=verbose to your bootloader (I guess you didn't tell us which one you are using).
the boot loader works great. Im talking about the boot screen and the shutdown screen. it's never worked. I've tried installing several boot themes but they don't do anything either.
