Question ksysguard unable to connect to localhost

hello,

i'm running madrake 10.1.

out of the blue, on login, ksysguard could not connect (ssl) to the localhost: no graphs, no readings.
besides there is an inconsistent message announsinig some "network problem" (network aplet does not appear on the taslbar) that otherwise going unnoticed - i can still access the internet.

i have created a new user with regular permissions and logged in as one. and everything worked just fine - no "network problem", ksysguard worked as usual.

it seems like some config file in my profile got screwed up and i can not figureout wich one. maybe i'm wrong.
anyway, what can i do in sucha situation?
any suggestions are welcome.
thanx in advance.

p.s. here's tha backtrace output:

Usually this is because ksysguard cannot resolve localhost

Check your /etc/hosts file and also see if you can ping localhost.

hosts file is fine, localhost is "pingable" (a new user profile have no probles, remember)

You may have a few KDE configuration files laying around which are causing problems.

You can try renaming the existing ~/.kde director to say ~/.kde.sav and then logging in.

The copy ONLY things which you need back, such as bookmarks, etc.

thanx a bunch, opjose

meanwhile, i have fugured out something alike: i have .kde/share/apps/ksysguard and .kde/share/config/ksysguardrc in my profile replaced with the same stuff from a new user's profile.
things look fine now.
btw, i found your signature very usefull.
thank you once again.
