Konquerer and /mnt/

I'm running a brand new install of the download edition of Mandrake 9.2 on a P3 500mhz w/512MB ramand a 80GB hard drive. I'm using KDE and every time I try to browse to /mnt the window will freeze and I can't get rid of it unless I logout. So far this is the only directory I have found that will do this. This happens when I'm logged in as root or as a user. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

TIA

Supermount problems. This has been mentioned many times here and elsewhere. You can edit your fstab config or do some sort of "supermount $SOMETHING" command that will fix the problem. To figure out exactly what to do, do a search on this site for "supermount, mandrake" and you'll find the instructions. Only problem is that you'll have to manually mount stuff in your /mnt directory. One possible solution is to try just disabling supermount for just your CD drive or drives and see if that works. That's the problem I have with supermount, it just won't work for my CD drives in any sort of reliable fashion. If you can get by with just disabling supermount for one drive then you'll have aneasier time not having to worry about mounting your other drives. Not that it's any tougher than a "mount" command when you need to do it.
