Installing Knoppix Fonts to MDK 10.1 CE

I have a full set of fonts from Knoppix; I have always loved the fonts in that distribution.

How do I install these into Mandrake? I assume that there may be some overlaps with fonts that are already installed.

So, where are the fonts kept in Mandrake? I can't seem to find them all.

How do I uninstall old fonts? Once I can find where the existing ones are, I can weed out duplicates.

How do I install new ones?

I am guessing that the install part can be done via MCC or via the KDE font installer. It is the (a) where are the current ones physically kept, and (b) how do I uninstall fonts that are the real questions.

Thanks!

you can find the locations of the font files in:
/etc/X11/fs/config

If it is a truetype font, you can simply drop the ttf files in some font directory. E.g. /usr/share/fonts/ttf/western. You can also get rid of them by simply deleting the files. You might have to restart the x server - log out and then ctrl-alt-backspace.
