installing ATI driver under mandrake9.2

I downloaded the ATI linux RPM for my sapphire 9600 pro. I followed the instructions on how to install it. When I try to install the rpm I get the message "No compiled module for your kernel. 2d and 3d support will be disabled." or something like that. I know I have to recompile something (/lib/modules/fglrx) to get the correct module installed but when I try to do that it says it couldnt find my kernel source. The Mandrake9.2 CD's don't come with the kernel source either. Does anyone know how to install the ATI drivers under mandrake9.2? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Configure urpmi for some internet sources and then try

urpmi kernel-source

and install the one that matches your running kernel

# Find running kernel version
uname -r

# Mandrake links
Mandrake home page
Mandrake Users website
Easy urpmi config for Mandrake
urpmi mini-HOWTO
All You Ever Wanted to Know About Urpmi But Never Dared Asking Before
Easy software management: Red Carpet
Maximum RPM
rpmfind
You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc
An Introduction to the Midnight Commander. You can install it by commanding:
urpmi mc
Midnight Commander home page

The kernel source isn't on the download cds. You can get it here:

ftp://ftp.cs.uu.nl/mirror/Linux/Mand.../Mandrake/RPMS

The package you need is:

kernel-source-2.4.22-10mdk.i586.rpm

assuming you have the standard download kernel. Check with uname -r as noted above.

ok thanks guys for your support. I just went back and installed Suse 9.0 after realizing it has a much more complex package list and also has the ATI driver as an RPM to install. I installed the fglrx.rpm and km_fglrx.rpm that I found on their FTP site and followed instructions and now everything works perfectly glxgears~3000FPS.
