I want to install Mandrake 10.1 on my computer - I'll admit now i'm a Linux newbie and this will be my first OS install of any kind. I already have Windows 98 on the computer and I want to get rid of it completly.
Now can I just format the harddrive and pop in the first installation CD, or is there anything else I have to do? (Baring in mind that my BIOS automatically searches for a bootable CD).
If, as you say, you want to remove Win98 altogether, just put the cd into the drive and boot from it. When the partitioning section comes up, select to use whole hard drive. Mandrake is very easy to install.
