Ok I decided to switch from Suse to Mandriva 2007. I got the DVD from a buddy of mine. I went threw the install and everything was fine. Rebooted and it gave me these errors:

etc/x11/gdm/xkeepscrashing line 168 2808 segment fault (core dumped) "$dialog" --yesno "$msG8" 10 50


/usr/bin/dialog acs_map has different size in shared object consider relinking

The 2808 changes at times to if I reboot it may be a different number. It doesnt let me load into the GUI at all. I also tried in verbose mode and went into Interactive by hiting I and tried not booting the sound card and the Alsa which according to my buddy are the ones causing the errors and still it didnt work. I also re-installed and it still gave the same errors. This is my system:

AMD Turion 64byte ATi Radeon X700 graphics, ATI Technoligies INC AC 97 audio controller
512 ram and its a Acer Ferrari 4000 Laptop (about 1 year old)

any ideas?

problem solved, was a problem with Graphic card drivers...

I've got the 4005 acer but Mandriva install is all screwed up.How did you overcome the graphics issue and also how did you get the Broadcom wifi to work?
