Arrow Install errors

I've already used WinXP normaly. Few days ago I installed FC5 to use Linux on my PC. But it doesn't work. So, I tried to reinstall the OS (because it can't boot) with WinXP. But now even it can't run.
Again, I format my disk and try to install at least one OS on my PC. But nothing happends. Neither WinXP nor FC5, even PC BSD.
Sometime the monitor tell 'missing operating system' when I've just installed from CD-ROM.
It took me amost week to do only one work with install and format...

What's the main problem here? and How do I solve that?

If you have a DOS bootdisk or similar fdisk /mbr will clear the master boot record. A few friends I have that are new had a similar problem, after a failed install corrupted the drive, and would not boot, even after install.

What kind of trouble are you experiencing, so that others may respond to this as well, and help others with the similar problems. Which bootloader did you use? And how are your OS's laid out on the drive. I've had a few problems before with dual booting Windows using lilo, I looked at a few third party bootloaders that worked pretty well, I would look into that if it is a booting problem, not an install problem.

Thanks slowcivic2k. But I'm new in Computer OS.

I just can't tell exactly about bootloaders. But I can discribe my trouble here clearly. First, my WindowXP's working perfectly and I hope to install more OS on my PC so I choose FC5. After I install FC5, there's trouble. I can't do anything with my PC even with my old OS (WinXP) and FC5. I tried to reinstall WinXP many time but it can't finish. My harddisk label changed from LBA, ATA 81GB to CHS, ATA 81GB. I think the problem's around MBR, so I rebuild MBR with my HirentBoot CD (Is there any trouble here ?). And the label is right. But I still can't install any OS on my PC except BSD. I had 3 partition: one primary for WinXP, one logical for mydata, and one for Linux (primary) (Is there any trouble here ?)
More about my WinXP installing: Some steps successes are format with FAT32, Checking system, Copy files. But when PC is restarted to continues, it show only the black screen and I can't do any thing more. There's no error or warning that my PC show. Just a black screen.
I hope I show more clearly and I need your help to solve my problem. plz
p/s: Can U show me more about the bootloader ? ThankU so much

If you fdisk /mbr the drive, and install XP, XP should work fine. About the CHS method, I don't see too many people using CHS anymore, LBA is the method you want for that drive, do set that in your BIOS before you reinstall XP (ntfs is a better file system, and I have had no problems with it in linux to speak of. It should boot fine after that. If you need a boot disk, bootdisk.com can provide you with one, get one for 2000 or XP, and fdisk that drive, and install. This is easiest for a new user. Next install linux, and in the case of FC5, it should automatically find the XP partition, and add enties to the bootloader (use grub). If you do it the other way around, you will have to add the entries for XP to boot in the bootloader manually.

I did it. What an sily man I am !
The trouble is caused by the monitor. When I change the other monitor, the screen is light, not black. And I can do my work successfully.
Hope that anyone get the similar trouble will solve it.
