IDE CD not recognised LE2005

Installed Mandriva LE2005 on a new IBM eServer X series 206, P4 3.2Hgz, SATA and IDE interfaces...
CD-ROM used for installation, on reboot and logon all seems well, but you cannot mnt the CD-ROM, it does appear in Konq, but it is not talking to the CD-ROM, it seems to be in fact routed to the hard drive?
You can even create directories in it!
In harddrake the IDE interface doesn't seem to be there, only the SATA interface?

You can *always* create directories on top a unmounted directory like /mnt/cdrom or /mnt/floppy before mounting.

use the mount command line program to try mounting the cdrom and post the result. "man mount" for help =P

There is a file called fstab somewere .... i think /etc/fstab

Look into it to see if there is something wrong with the way it is mounting your cd.

Also, mandrake comes with an app to mount stuff. disk-something ... use it / look for it in the menu.
