How to find Program

I downloaded the America Online Instant messenger from www.aim.com. I downloaded the file and double clicked on it and it did something. Then I just went to my command line in Mandrake and typed in AIM and my AIM program loads up fine.

I would like to build an icon short on my taskbar, but I have no clue where the file got installed to. If I can't find it, I can't make the shortcut. how do I find out where the software is on my computer?

if you type:

which AIM

on your command line, you'll get the full path to AIM, which you can put in the shortcut.
