guessing, pheraphs you should check in other OS the cdroom that launch the error...

IIRC each disck have a floder named "Mandrake", and inside that folder exist other folder, with a name like "mdksoft1" for disck one, mdksoft2 for disck 2, I guess that the installer search for that folders and with the name check if is the DC that the installation need actually.

Anyway gl&hf.

I am sorry but i dont understand your reply.
Once i have booted from dos into the Mandrake installation setup, It asks me to select my method of Install ( I choose CDROM) it then asks me which drive I want to use, I tell it NEC burner or Pioneer DVDROM (I have tried both) Then its brings up the message of "The CDROM Disk does not seem to be a Mandrake Linux Installation CDROM, Retry with another disc?"

I have tried Disk 2 and i have burnt about 10 copys of disk 1!! Im getting really angry over this, Is it just messed up or am i doing something wrong. I cant find help anywhere.

Dont burn more copies

I dont know what is your problem. But Ok, I will try explain my self (not a natal english speaker).

You have 4 cd, each one have at less a Directory called Mandrake inside this folder is a folder called RPMSx, where the x stand for the number of the disck 1,2,3,4. What I say is check if the cd have at less this, the second only have one extra folder in the root (called boot), the first other things in the root directory (included boot)

Correct.
CD 3 & 4 have sub folders called mandrake and inside them another folder called RPMSx (X regarding number of CD)
CD2 has two sub folders called Boot, and another one called Mandrake (inside mandrake again is RPMSx
CD 1 has sub folders called; Doc, dosutil, images, isolinux, mandrake, misc
and other files.

I am assuming that you downloaded the iso files, correct? If so, did you just copy the file to CD? If that is what you did then that is the source of your problem.

You must extract the iso image to CD. I've only used Easy CD Creator to do this, but it can be done with Nero and others. To burn the image to cd double click on the iso file and it will automatically extract and burn to cd (with easy cd creator). Do this for all the cds you downloaded and you should be good to go.
