ive just re-installed RH8.. can it run ipmasquerade w/o updating the kernel?

ive read some info's @
http://tldp.org/HOWTO/IP-Masquerade-HOWTO/

hmmmm ... and i think there's a section there about:
" compiling a kernel if needed "
in my case.. a new RH8. without kernel updates..
is it already capable to run ip masquerade?
or does anyone here that run ip masquerade with RH8 w/o kernel updates?
thank you..

no need for kernel recompile or kernel update. try this link instead:

http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/Lin...rkGateway.html

look for the example section.
