First thing I always do after installing a program is right click on the menu icon (the yellow star) and select Menu Editor . When the menu editor loads, it will reload the pixmap, and I've found that doing so usually gets the newly installed programs to appear in the menu. Obviously, you shouldn't have to do this, but it appears to be a bug with Mandrake /KDE where they don't get added automatically.

Also, not all programs by default put themselves in the menu, (but most RPM installed files will) so you can add them manually through the menu editor, (as long as you know the path to the program).

Oh and you can uninstall RPM packaged programs by running RPMdrake ( menu -> system -> configuration -> packaging -> remove software.)

You then can search for a specific installed program and delete it.

If you installed from source, you'd have to remove the program through the terminal.
