external usb drive

is there a program out there to make mandrake 10 read a external usb ntfs drive like lindows does ?i read the info that this site posts on the subject but its pretty drastic and involves reformatting drive to fat 32

any help would be appreciated

Eh, what do you mean?

Mandrake can read an NTFS USB drive just fine.

i connect the external usb drive and mandrake detects it immediatley and an icon appears on desktop and mandrake classifys it as a hard disc removable but when i double click to view contents of drive i can not view anything stored on drive ?completely blank

Have you tried mounting the drive from a console?

What happens when you try?

Also try as root.
