Error compiling the original kernel in Mandrake 9
Dear LQ users
I just installed Linux Mandrake on my Laptop and got the following error when running "make menuconfig" on /usr/src/linux-2.4.22-6mdk
Q> scripts/Menuconfig: line 832: MCmenu78: command not found
I receive that error when I go to the Advanced Sound submenu, inside the Sound Menu
Apart from that, I cannot run make xconfig in that directory
However, if I download a new kernel (say 2.6.3) I am able to go through all the options in "make menuconfig" and I am able to run "make xconfig"
Apart from that, I try to compile a kernel module (acpi_lcd) and receive errors as well. I had to create simbolic link from /usr/sbin/gcc-3xxx to /usr/sbin/gcc-32 (since gcc32 wasn't included in the distro 9).
Is there any library that I should install in order to have my gcc-32 working most of the time?
Regards
