Duel Monitors under Mandrake 10

Hey, I've recently ditched win xp for mandrake 10 with a fair amount of success save my onboard sound not working and my attempts at hooking up duel monitors to my radeon making kde unable to start. I'm a linux user at work and such but never had to instal anything remotely tricky before so would appreciate some pointers. If anyone can help with my specific problems that would be great but I'd settle for some of you veterans pointing me to a few sites to steer me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance, your local neighbourhood spoonchops

try,..

http://digital-domain.net/lug/multi-monitor/

its based on an x.org release of X, as a mdk10 user you will be running xfree86 but just change the config file names appropreatly.

That site seemed fairly informative and I feel like I learnt something from it but it's done me no good as I still couldn't get it working. Have you done this yourself? I tried several variations of what he has done but still when I reboot X doesn't start.

I downloaded the new ATI drivers and ran the config tool, after a few hours of fooling around I got a display in dual head mode but not big desktop mode (which is what I want), I realise this may be a very specific problem but I'd really appreciate some help.

Here we go again....
If you want your monitors to duel just give them some pistols at 10 paces.
