Hi ,
i want to open the gnomein the kde from the command prompt.when i type,
#gnome-session
already u running window manager.
where as in the gnome desktop the KDE is openning..
how to start gnome in the KDE itself.......
similarly what is the keyboard shortcut for opening the konsole in the terminal......
You cannot run the Gnome desktop from within KDE. You must select to run it separately when you log in. At least, I think that's what you're trying to do...
GNOME is one windowmanager (OK, it's technically a Desktop Environment).
KDE is another (also a DE).
You can only run one at a time.
You can, however, run KDE apps in GNOME and vice versa just by starting them.
I think you are misunderstanding what you are actually running. It's possible you are using GDM to log into KDE or something...
But you cannot have two window managers (desktop environments) running at once. When you are at your login screen, select GNOME and you will use the GNOME wm instead of KDE.
