I'm using Mandrake 10.0. When I try to configure the menu's under "configure your computer" I have two optoins. Configure system menu and user menu.
When I try to configure system menu or root's menu, it works fine. If I try to configure any of the users that I created nothing opens. I want to configure my menu and my menu alone to have a music link on it without putting one on the other users menu's
Try opening the main menu, browsing to the folder that you want to add the entry to, then in the sub-menu of that folder, right click and choose "entire menu" and from that sub-menu, choose "Add item to this menu". I think you could still do that under GNOME 2.4 (I've been using 2.6 so long I've forgotten). Then add your item.
I don't have multiple users, but as far as I know, any entries made in this way will only be valid for the particular user. At least, they don't seem to show up on root's menu.
Alternatively, you could put this link in your personal ~/Desktop menu (so it would only appear on your desktop), or make a personal panel or drawer that included this link.
