colour scheme help

I have downloaded and installed a new colur scheme form kde-look which is dark with white text, but when i open my home directory in konq' the text beneath the icons is black making it difficult to see, however if i single click a folder then the text *does* change to white, but i want it to be white when just browsing, i have looked in konq' preferences under appearence and the font colour *is* set as white ?

Cany anyone tell me what i need to do to correct this or does anyone know the file that handles my home directory colours maybe i could edit it by hand ?

tia.

in kontrol center, try going to components->file manager & check the font colour there. if it's not set to white (or your desired colour) change it. you may need to restart KDE for settings to take effect.

Just logging out of KDE and logging back in again should have sorted it.

Also, I find that switching to a plain console (Alt+F1) logging in as root and typing 'init1' (Maintenance mode) then waiting intil you get a prompt back and typing 'init 5' (Full Multiuser with X) can get you out of some strange situations, and avoid having to reboot.
