Question Cannot Umount or eject cdrom in Md10


When I insert a cd on cdrom drive a cdrom icon appears on the desktop. Right clicking this icon shows opne,umount and eject . When I try to umount or eject error screen appears showing that the cdrom is busy.What's wrong here?

If it says it's busy then there's usually some app using the cd. Do you still have the konqueror/nautilus window open browsing the cd?

Haha, I've got the solution. Type this ina terminal as root "fuser -km /mnt/cdrom"
I think the reason why this happens is something to do with magicdev. Go to menu->system->configuration->hardware->CD properties and deselect a few of them, I'm not sue which one of them causes the problem though.

Jus tried nd the problem seems to have disappeared!

There is nothing using the cd-no konqueror or nautilus browsing it.
Beejayzed,
I'll try your solution when the problem comes up again.
