cannot telnet port 25

Hello,
My system is on Mandrake 10.1.

There is no firewall or router installed.

IP is 192.168.0.253.

I have installed Postfix.

Telnet 192.168.0.253 110 connects.

But telnet 192.168.0.253 25 does not connect. Why ?

Howto fix this problem ?

Thanks

Varun

try 127.0.0.1 25

postfix has probably bound itself to lo by default

change the 'inet_interfaces = localhost'

in '/etc/postfix/main.cf'

to 'inet_interfaces = 192.168.0.253'
