Angry Can't telnet to port 25

Hello,

I just installed RedHat 7.2 server config. Sendmail is running and iptables and ipchains have been stopped. I am unable to telnet to port 25. I get a blank line no smtp version header. After I type my first character, I get a new command prompt. I am able to telnet port 25 on my ISP smtp server. I do see the smtp traffic using tcpdump. I need help. thanks.

Jeff
