can't get mandriva one to boot


i downloaded the iso created a bootable dvd but no matter what i try i just can't get the thing to start i am running a amd 64 3500 (2.2ghz) system with 1 gig of ram a 160 gig hard drive with tons of room a ati 256 vid card and win xp but when i restart and try to boot from the dvd it just won't work can someone help please.......

oh and by the way yes i am a complete noobie and darn proud of it! lol

Two questions.

1. Did you go into the bios and set the dvd drive as a bootable source?

2. How did you burn the ISO? What software? If in dought, there is info on this forum on how to burn an ISO image so it will boot.

finally got the mandriva one to boot for me but moniter keeps having issues when adjusting it above 800/600 resolution have samsung syncmaster 920n not listed in moniter page anyone know of any fixes? or am i stuck at the 800/600 setting

How were you trying to "adjust it" above 800x600? BTW, you are not stuck. Were you using the tools in MCC? What driver do you have loaded for the the ATI graphics card?

yes i tried changing the resolution through the mcc but still no good i can go to higher resolution but the the screen becomes distorted (split almost) as for the ati driver the system doesn't even seem to want to recognize the card at all i downloaded and installed the most recent driver from the ati web site but that didn't help either

never mind everything working good now lol just took a little configuring sorry for wasting everyones time, slowly but surely getting the hang of things
