Best way to get firefox?

The only rpm I've got on urpmi for firefox is version 0.1. I've previously downloaded it from mozilla and had a few problems installing extensions like googlebar. Can anyone suggest why there are problems and what might be the best way. Thanks.

Well sometimes the new versions of Firefox can have patches in them that break extensions. However 1.0.3 (the tarball) only breaks one extension I think (a dictionary search plug-in?). There's lots of discussion about extensions and problems in the forums at www.mozillazine.org. That's likely to be the best place to ask specific questions about Firefox.

The best thing to do is download the latest tarball and follow the super-easy installation instructions. Don't bother with the rpm.

Yes I got the tar file and it's working fine although I keep getting told that I'm leaving an encrypted page and then get a page of chinese (?) characters. It seems to be alright now though. I'm a little surprised it isn't in the rpm's as it's popular.
