Thumbs up acpi mandriva 2010.1 crashes computer

acpi does not work in Mandriva 2010.1
toshiba L505
in grub: acpi=ht or acpi=on crashes the boot process, freezes the computer
I have tried different solutions by other people to no avail.
what works?
Do we need to wait for a kernel update?
Some people say it is a glitch in the hardware !!! ???
I am using kernel 2.6.33.7-desktop586-2mnb

What happens when you don't add anything to the command line?

I'm using kernel 2.6.35.4-1mnb. From cooker.

acpi functions fine here.

Your laptop may be too new.

That is interesting. On my desktop (64 bit AMD dual core) system, I am using kernel 2.6.33.7-desktop-2mnb here, and ACPI works as expected. I used MCC > Set up boot system to set up the grub boot manager. In the Advanced dialog, ACPI, SMP, APIC, and Local APIC are all enabled. I also selected the option to Clean /tmp at each boot.

Your issue must be specific to your computer. I am happy that the newer kernel fixed it for you,
