16" Mac Color Display w / Mandriva 2006

on a 500 Mhz PIII. i got the Mac to PC adapter on and it's plugged in but i can see very little on the 16" Mac display.

This PC used to have a 14" HP on it, w / 800 x 600 @ 60 Hz, 720 x 480 resolution and 16 bpp. But, since i connected the Mac to the PC, obviously i can't see enough to even run MCC or whatever to set the new monitor settings. All it get is a bunch of garbage and can't distinguish very much. At least i can see it's working and that Linux pretty much comes up.

Any ideas? Have a great afternoon!
