Yes, this is a Linux board. But what about setting up a forum, or perhaps a subforum, for technical Windows questions? I don't mean Windows bashing, just technical questions.
The reason I recommend this is because we are a community. We are familiar with each other. Sometimes we may prefer to ask a question of our LQ members, rather than go to another board.
Yeah, but there are a lot of Windows forums, both open and non-open (like expertsexchange or whatever) that should fulfill the Windows users' forum needs. For technical help they can always visit Microsoft's Knowledge Base or call or email them -- that's why you pay for an operating system, to get support (all right - some pay because of licences, but what's the point in that, if it doesn't include help?)
The naming ("LinuxQuestions") is another matter then..at the moment here are forums for non-Linux related things already, so maybe it's not that big a deal. Though most things still are related to *nix operating systems anyway, so they're closer to Linux than Windows.
In short I don't think it's a good idea - Windows user forums are typically filled with non-relevant posts and irritating "how r u dloadin ur free moviez&gamez&warezz HELP NOW !!1!11" -threads. The ones who do come over here and ask questions regarding Windows do it in "General" already, and I think that's all right. Of course anyone is free to register WindowsQuestions.org if it's not taken already.

Reason: typos
ww.WindowsQuestions.org is already registered (click the link to find out by who!!) LQ has it's focus Linux questions - although we've naturally branched out into other *nix areas, Linux is now and always will be the forums main focus. There have been calls for a Windows forum over the years, though not many and the General forum is designated as the place to ask Windows questions.
There are already a number of Windows forums out there - Microsoft have a large number of well trafficked mailing lists for all of their products - and we're just not wanting to compete with them.
