Weird behaviour when trying to connect to LQ

I'm a bit confused about this. When I try to connect to LQ from my bookmarks, firefox starts the connection process, but then seems to point me to www.google-analytics.com and just hangs there. I looked up google-analytics - which seems to be something to do with adwords etc. Because my firefox install hangs on the connecting to www.google-analytics.com part of the process, the only way I've been able to get here (as far as I can tell) is by disabling javascript in my firefox preferences. I can't work out whats causing it. Is it an LQ thing? or should I be looking at my install? or my ISP (which I've only just migrated too)? or something else? any advice/suggestions much appreciated. regards John p.s. I did find an extension called CustomizeGoogle. I understood that this might (or might not) have helped, it hasn't irrespective of what I change the settings too. {edit}OK it's obviously not an "LQ thing", because I'm getting the same result if I have javascript enabled and try to access slashdot. Damn! I wonder what else I can do to get rid of this annoying behaviour!{/edit}

You're the second person who has reported this. If it continues I am going to go ahead and remove the stats package we are using. Oddly - the problem doesn't seem to be impacting me.

Just for info Jeremy, I've now managed to get into LQ with javascript enabled in firefox, so I'm wondering if it was something to do with some sort of server problem at "google-analytics" (I presume that as I'm at the user end, I'm not supposed to see it anyway).

I also just checked slashdot (which was also giving me problems yesterday) and I can get in there as well.

Thanks very much for your reply.

regards

John
