Question k3b weird behaviour

ok

I have a few problems with k3b.

1) first of all it doesn't start every time. Sometimes it gets stuck when "Scanning for CD devices..." The funny thing is after killing the app and a reboot it detects the devices just fine and starts.

2) the other thing is that it says that growisofs isn't installed. I tried to find the rpm/package for that without any luck.

3) "cdrdao can't run without root privilege" is the last error i got. Here again i have no idea what to do.

Of course i can't burn anything (like FC3 i'd like too test GGGRRRRRR)

any suggestions?? If you need more info let me know which and how to get them.

cheers !!

for the cdrdao permissions problem run k3bsetup2 or run it suid root:

su -c /opt/kde/bin/k3b (or wherever k3b is installed)
<passwd>

Find growisofs in the dvd+rw-tools package: http://freshmeat.net/projects/dvdrw-tools/
I haven't checked it's homepage to see if there is an rpm, but I believe there would be.

Do what __J for "cdrdao can't run without root privilege" then everything should be set.

However - the first problem is something I do not know how to fix, I have the same problem sometimes but I just ignore it as I rarely use k3b except for when I feel like pretty pictures and just choose the CLI way.
