thread name in most recent post


could we get a thread name in most recent post so you know what the latest thread is in each area so u don't have to open the subfourm and look every time. like on www.teenadvicecenter.com

That looks like a good idea for a site that isn't as active as LQ.

I think that with LQ the 'latest thread' changes so often (sometimes more than 10 times a minute!) that it wouldn't be as helpful as it would seem. However, if you are a bandwidth restrictive setup (dial up) may I suggest an alternate browser: w3m. Has images even though it's text based. Great way to surf LQ. Another idea, is to open up all the Forums in seperate tabs (you are using a tabbed enabled browser right?) and then they'll load on their own, while you concentrate on the tab that is currently open. Other options would be to "View New Posts" which many members do in addition to the above idea.

But personally, wrt the above, it wouldn't be as helpful as it would seem since topics change so rapidly from questions being replied to, and new threads being created so often.
