mozilla keeps crashing as I try to post new thread

I've attempted to post a thread about 5 times, and each time mozilla (v 1.4.2) has crashed. Sometimes the browser just closed on its own, sometimes the app just hangs, and I have to kill the process by opening a new terminal window (if I start mozilla from the gnome panel, I have to restart my computer).

I'm typing this hoping that I can finally get a post through. We'll see. Can someone please give me some recommendations on how to debug this problem? I don't know where to start.

Well, the problem doesn't seem to exist anymore. I had mozilla-1.4.2 on there before, and I upgraded to mozilla-1.6. I also installed java and the java-plugin. It seems to be working, for now.
