Since that is the main page for AMD processors, I would expect to be able to add a new product (new AMD processor) from there. The only place I found a new product button was by going to a specific existing product, clicking "post review", logging in again (don't know why that happened), and clicking on "new product". To add a new product to a processor class that didn't have any yet (e.g. Dec/Compaq as of now), I would have to go via a different processor class that did already have a product...unless I'm missing something, which is entirely possible.
I seem to be having the same problem as lethargo. I go to I/O devices and then to Logi-tech, and I can't find a button anywhere to add a new peice of hardware. I am quite stumped, and can't figure out how other people solved this problem.

Obviously I am logged in, so I don't see how that could be the problem.

I would like to contribute to the HCL to the best of my ability but this is the proverbial brick wall in front of me.

I'm using Opera 7.11 right now, if that makes a difference

You should have a "new product" button in the upper right hand corner. If you block images from "different servers" (wording may vary) to block ads, then the button is likely being blocked.

Not sure . . .

Thanks for the quick reply.

I loaded up Mozilla this time, and checked so it said "allow images from this site" under image manager. Then I reloaded the page and checked to see that I was logged in. Still no button.

The following link is a screen shot of what I get (in case I am somehow not seeing the button but it is there)

http://www.silverwarethief.com/temp/hclforum.jpg

So, as best as I can figure out, the cause of the problem that you suggest isn't what is causing my problem, at least.

I confess to being pretty stumped.

Well, the images don't come from "this site" (ie. www.linxuquestions.org), they come from the image server. Looking at the pic the button is indeed missing. If you view source do you have a reference to:

Not in code

I did a search in the page source, copying the source code you listed into the search box. The text search came back saying it couldn't find any such thing.

Saved the page source as a file, if you want to look at it:

http://www.silverwarethief.com/temp/hcl.txt

This seems very peculiar. I purged the cache on mozilla and relogged in. Still no dice.

It is indeed missing from the source. Do you browse via a proxy? What is your "Image Acceptance Policy" in Mozilla?

Nope

Jeremy,

Sorry, still not coming up, don't know what you tried to do to fix the matter.

My Mozilla image acceptance policy has been set to "accept all images" and I even went so far as to add "images.linuxquestions.com" and "www.linuxquestions.com" to my image permissions manager.

Not quite sure what you mean by browsing via proxy. I am behind the hardware firewall in my four port Lnksys router, but I doubt I'm the first person using a router who has tried to access the HCL for posting. I haven't fiddled with the basic default settings on the router. There are three computers on my LAN and one printer. The computer I am using now has dual install of win95 and mandrake linux. Currently I am viewing the forum from a windows boot. [Probably a good deal of information there you didn't need, but I'm trying to cover every base ]

I even tired loading this hcl page on a different computer on my LAN and the button didn't show up on that computer either.

okay, wait

ok, wait. Now I do have a review button when I go to a particular device. (such as http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...hp?product=488 ) But what if I want to add a new device? I still don't have any button to add at the screen:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showcat.php?cat=441

which is where I wanted to add a device

(The device being my Track Man Marble+)
