new post waiting for moderator feedback - show up in myLQ
For a new post to LQ that is awaiting moderator approval for posting, how about it showing up in myLQ as waiting for approval? Otherwise, it can be a problem to find out if it was not correctly submitted.
Which forum did you have this happen to you? If it's in Linux-News, all posts have to be approved (and we try to get to them as soon as work/family/sleep patterns allow!) if it's elsewhere, it's possible that something you posted triggered the spam filtering software. If this does happen to you in a non-News forum, mail one of the mods to alert them.
It happened in the Linux Software forum. I had thought that the post submission might have gotten lost in "cyberspace somewhere", so I resubmitted it since myLQ did not show me any indication that it was received and there ended up being a duplicate post after the original post was listed...after finding its way out of the "cyberspace lost and found". It was the first post, so it could have been part of LQ's spam filtering. The duplicate post has already been removed, so it all looks okay now.
That occasionally happens and is not to do with the spam filtering. If Akismet flags a post as spam, it can only be released by a mod or Jeremy. It does sometimes happen that you hit post and 2 posts appear and this is something else altogether.
