Exclamation LQ.org page giving JavaScript errors in Konqueror

When visiting this page:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...=518752&page=2

(both pages 1 and 2, but not on page 3)

I get the following error:
Code:
A script on this page is causing KHTML to freeze. If it continues to run, other applications may become less responsive.
Do you want to abort the script?
Do I have an incorrect setting, or is the code off? I have been using Firefox lately so when i opened the page in Konqueror the error was new to me.

If I can post more info for anyone, please let me know what (and maybe how). Thanks!

I see it every now and again, seemingly at random, But only when I'm not logged in. I think its something to do with the adwords thingy.

I've not seen any errors here in Firefox, and firing up konq doesn't show any either. Is this happening often?

It doesnt happen that often, maybe every other week. I am using java 1.6.0 if that makes a difference.

Typical. Five minutes after posting it happens again. This time however I was logged so it is not ads.

We don't use any java, so it's unrelated to that. If you have ads turned off, the only javascript we really use is really fairly light and should not cause a problem. Are you running the latest Konq? Do other sites give you problems?

Well I tried my best but I cannot reproduce it. Other browsers have no problems, I think it must be a konqueror issue (3.5.6). I have seen this on other sites, other forums actually, some were far worse than LQ (doing it every page). Could be related...

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, I am still getting sporadic javascript errors.

Anyway I noticed something I hadn't seen before in konqueror, at the bottom right of the window
is a little bumblebee. The tooltip states "This web page contains coding errors".
It pops up on every page, if I click on it, I see the following:

JavaScript Errors

Code:
[Whatever LQ page I'm looking at]: ReferenceError: Can't find variable: urchinTracker
I am wondering if this could be causing the random freezes, either way I thought you might like to know.

Does anyone get that in any other browser?

No Jeremy, I don't get any errors in any browsers on any pages of LQ.

Just a hunch, Daws there must be something wrong on your system.

Think I've solved the problem. urchinTracker is used in the google ads (google analytics
or something).

Anyway I had several entries in my hosts file that redirected google ads and friends to 127.0.0.1.
Once I removed the entries, konqueror no longer complains and for now the freezing has stopped (cross fingers).
