So I posted something I shouldn't have and now I'm catching some heat for it. I have since removed this information from the post in question, however said information remains in the google cache.
I understand this information can be removed but requires intervention of the site owner.
I sent a message using the LQ "Contact Us" button, but haven't received a response yet. Is there someone specific on the site I need to contact in order to make this happen? Does it even work like that?
This is a good example of how you have to be very careful these days about what you post anywhere on the internet, even if the ability to 'edit' is available. I have no clue how often the 'Googlebots' re-scan these pages, but I guess you must always take that into consideration. The internet is not as 'safe' and 'private' as you may think. That is why they are often times able to catch criminals even when they use proxy servers or post on 'safe' sites that claim they don't record your ip/info when you post (they probably don't, but your internet traffic went through a bunch of other places that may have saved that packet before it even got to its destination).
Same thing goes for criminal offense that you have gotten 'expunged' or taken off your record somehow, they don't show up on your public record but they are for sure kept on record somewhere.

a thought! though yuo can get rid of the page from google/yahoo etc cache but i'm sure this page will be availabe somewhere in the web no matter whatever you do to remove this page, one such place can be, i think, the internet archive, and this archive obvsly gets crawled but google/yahoo etc. so if you just wanted to remove it from LQ then , the very next crawl of google will do the job else no way out!
