2014 LinuxQuestions.org Members Choice Award Categories

It's almost time for the 2014 LinuxQuestions.org Members Choice Awards. Here is the list of proposed categories for this year. Keep in mind that while we understand that some categories end up containing projects that might not be directly comparable, it's simply not feasible to have enough categories to be all encompassing. If you have suggestions on additions, subtractions or modifications, let us know. I'll be finalizing the list and posting the polls based on feedback from this thread.

Are there any polls that members think should be removed this year? "Game Distribution Service of the Year" is one possible addition. Any others?

DAW of the Year {Qtractor,LMMS,Ardour2,Ardour3,Rosegarden,Muse,Non}

We removed Audio Authoring Application of the Year and Video Authoring Application of the Year a few years ago due to lack of participation and lopsided results.

I would like to see the FTP client of the year added. Clients include FileZilla, gFTP, Konqueror, LFTP, and NcFTP.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure there would be sufficient participation in that category, but I'm going to leave a few additional days for feedback.

+1 for ftp application oty

Would also be nice, but probable impractical to be able to vote for more than one entry, maybe a first second third preference

For 2015 I think Open Source Server Control Panel is a good one.

There's a lot more than just Webmin now, and many are starting to rival the paid control panels.

With all the free one's out there now, people could use an idea of which one is a favorite.

There are about 15 free one's here:
http://www.tecmint.com/web-control-p...linux-servers/

And this is a up and coming field, with 2 great new panels becoming even more popular this year:
http://centos-webpanel.com/
and
http://sitebios.com/
