Linux Enlightenment Experience

Hi All

I thought it would be good to share amongst ourselves those magic moments, when you realise that you are finally getting to grips with your wonderful linux/unix install.

A defining moment for me had to be (finally?!?) getting Gentoo working from scratch, setting up LAMP & Samba server w/no X windows, upgrading system, overwriting at least 90 config files by mistake, and reconfiguring by hand to get working again (stupid I know, but boy, did I learn alot)

you learned that gentoo users spend more time "fixing" a system than using it?
