Just Installed Slackware 9

I am feeling rather pleased with myself - I have just successfully installed Slack to a laptop. Once I remembered what the partitions were and what they should be (it's been a while since I've had to manually partition anything!) all went smoothly.

I now am able to use Linux while my g/f uses the desktop pc for all the stuff she needs (she can use Linux, RH9 is on there, but prefers Windows).

Just some tweaking and installing to do now and all is well with the world.

Nice, I just installed Slack9 on a laptop as well, I'm pleased that everything works as good right off the bat as it did with my desktop. But DANG does kde run slow.

Yeah - I'm about to go to www.crucial.com to grab some more memory, around £40 for 128mb. Thing is, I've just pulled the laptop apart - this was built back before Compaq figured out how to put laptops together in such a way as to make them easy to fix - and I'm not entirely positive I can get it together again. The memory slot is inside the laptop and you have to take it entirely apart to put in any more memory!!!

Should be fun - I've left it apart for the mo, rather than put it together now and have to do it all over again in a few days time.
