i needed to install java to host a web site in java script

and i was using red hat 9.

i hope this document may be use full to any person.
if in any case this doesnt work plzzz check google.

if any one feel worth adding any thing just enhance it.
when you downloaded
put it under
dir /usr/java
chmod 777 jre-1_5_0_01-linux-i586-rpm.bin
run it
then it will prompt
you just type yes and press enter
then it will be installed
and one more dir will be created under /usr/java

just set path

#export PATH=/usr/java/jre1.5.0_01/bin:$PATH

now installing plugins for mozilla

go to /home/username/.mozilla
mkdir plugins
chmod 777 plugins
then link the file

#ln -s /usr/java/jre1.5.0_01/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin.oji.iso /home/username/.mozilla/plugins/

for example if we are doing this for user root

#ln -s /usr/java/jre1.5.0_01/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin.oji.iso /root/.mozilla/plugins/

now doing it with konqueror

if u r using KDE

just click setting in toolbar
a drop down menu will appear
then click configure konqueror
then in left side pane select
java & java scripts
in right side
just check box enable java globally

and down
in path to java execcutable just show the path

that all
apply ok

and get set going

You don't need Java installed to run Javascripts, those are rendered from the browser itself.

Remember, Javascript is not Java, big big differences.

But anyways, moving to Success Stories where these types of threads are more suitable.
