Cherry CyMotion Master Solar M86-21950
Hello,
Around newyear I bought myself the CyMotion Master Solar, M86-21950 from Cherry.
I was impressed to find Linux rpm's on the support site but at first I couldn't get it installed due to the fact that my (open)Suse 10.0 is 64bits.
My keyboard worked, only the multimedia keys didn't work so I didn't mind and didn't invest a lot of time in troubleshooting.
Yesterday I tried again and this time I got it working. All I had to do was reinstall one of my 64bits drivers with a 32bit version and the rpm installed.
(There are probably other solutions to get around this, but this works for me and it's easy done in yast)
Even though they mention a kernel patch to get all the special keys working, every key seems to work without installing the patch.
On my next boot the applet was automaticly loaded with a good basic configuration that included all of my much used apps like amarok and firefox. Reconfiguring some keys was a piece of cake (take some time to read about "dcop", it rocks).
Hooray for Cherry!
