There are lots of other threads you could have contributed to for your first post. You could have just posted in the introductions section. Have a look around.

There are plenty of lurkers on LQ, who either never post, or rarely post. I've seen people with single digit post counts, and some who have never made any posts, after they've been members for 10 years or more. It is not against any of our rules, and there are no requirements that anyone contribute to any threads.

Hopefully you'll find the site to be useful, enjoyable, and a site you like to visit.
