Hi!
I wanted to write a post to "general", but the software denied to open my first thread there.
Ok.
Short intruduction on me:
I'm a 40y old male from germany that has no professionel link to hard- and software at all. I chose Linux ~30 months ago and will never ever go back to windows again.
Linux has encouraged me to dig deeper into how OSes, computers and software/programming in general work and it has and still is giving me exciting insights and perspectives.
Most of the time i am a passive user in the sense, that i consult the "Search" most of the times rather than asking or answering questions.
Here's the one i wanted to ask in "general", because i didn't find a satisfying answer in the web for:
A co-worker recently told me that at the LHC they discovered time travelling elementary particles. Can anyone confirm and possibly provide a good read?
..t's not quite clear to me how or why the Higgs contrives to influence the minds of Congressmen, or cause LHC magnets to overheat from its point of discovery some time in the future. Even trying to consider how it would achieve such feats makes my own magnets overheat.
Interesting read, indeed.
As far as i recall, my co-worker did not refer to the Higgs particle.
I just can't asses his statements. Maybe his source (tv) was incredible or he got something wrong OR maybe is is true and time-travelling in quantum physics is a common phenomenon that just does not fit into human perception and imagination.
