Hello World!

Thanks everybody for your help.
My problem now is that I can go to a website and download .tar or rpm but the commands
i use don't seem to work. Is there a tutorial that shows how to manage downloads, create directory...and commands to execute?

when you say they don't work what do you mean?
are you getting an error? if so what is it?
what distro are you using?

also are your running the commands as su/sudo or user?

Kiss of the Goat--Lord belial

Hi,everybody!

Music issue:
insert music cd ->f -> multimedia -> rythmbox...etc;
No sound...; then I try the music on the internet and nothing also..;
Message:
"Couldn't start playback. You do not have a decoder installed to handle this file. You might
need to install the necessary plugins"

I had earlier used:
system-config-soundcard to check the driver for the soundcard, it passed the test in that dialogue
box. So the problem, is it with the application , is this problem the same for both, listening to
music locally or on the Internet?
