Hi and welcome to LQ.

FYI, there's no such thing as linux 6. I think you might be talking about Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 or Debian 6. These are distributions (in short: distros)
Linux is the kernel of the system, which at the moment is at 2.6.39.2.

In the future, if you ask any question please kindly provide your distribution name and version.

Once again welcome to LQ and have fun.

Hello and welcome to LQ!

I do highly advise though that for future reference, please use a spell checker, and use proper grammar within these forums, as not doing so is frowned upon, and you will most likely not receive as much help as you are looking for.

Cheers, and welcome again!

Josh

I thought the kernel was at 3.0.0 now…?

EDIT: @corp769: You might want to edit your post again; you're basically telling the OP that it's a bad idea to use a spellchecker.

3.0 is still a release candidate and not official released.
