Hello,
I am Vsm Mat,
This is my first post to introduce myself.
I am new to Linux. Long time back I had installed Linux on one of our systems and worked for some years. But off and on.
This time I am using only Linux and I am happy as all my needs are fulfilled. I would like to learn more about configuring my system, commands to work in console. Only three months experience.
A retired electronics person looking after coconut and banana farm.
I see a lot of posts here, just by reading I am getting lots of information.
Welcome to the forums! We are happy to have you as well as all new members.
From Bombay I came and purchased this farm 10 years back. Originally I am a born coffee planter. May be that is in my blood. Going three rounds of the farm with my dogs gives me great pleasure. It has kept me healthy. Clean air, no bumper to bumper traffic. But I can keep communicating with wonderful people all over the globe using Net.
Eager to learn always, automation of complete irrigation system has made our life simple. Now I am using Arduino to improve functionality of the system. XP is out for programming Arduino, so good bye to an OS I have used since 1988(Dos 3.2). Started using Linux. I am sidetracked in to learning Linux from my original purpose of looking for a OS to use Arduino IDE. Now slowly starting back.
Perhaps the tutorials I mentioned in post #2 here might be of help in learning how to use Linux, if you haven't already seen them already.
Regards...
Thanks ardvark71,
These links are taking me to a whole new learning courses. I am not a beginner to OS and programming, but I am new to Linux. Thanks a million, I am bookmarking all of them. Needs in-depth studying. Here is a young man of 70, eager to learn and ready to put in 10 hours of time for learning. These sources will be highly useful.
