Smile First hello world!


Thanks to the advice from this site, I have just succeeded in setting up and installing linux (slackware) and writing my first hello world program (with vi and gcc). Although there is a little learning curve, after years of programming on a well known closed-source OS, it is a liberating experience to be able to actually have control of what my machine is doing. Sky is the limit now ...
