wlan problems


just got it installed, and i did all the lil parameters as said in a guide, but when trying to start it, i get the error:

Starting WLAN Devices:wlan0: error fetching interface information: Device not fo
und
Error: Device wlan0 does not seem to be present.
Make sure you've inserted the appropriate
modules or that your modules.conf file contains
the appropriate aliase(s).
wlanctl-ng: No such device
dot11PrivacyOptionImplemented mibget failed.
wlanctl-ng: No such device
error: Autojoin indicated failure!


so it can't find my card... where can i go in and edit/set that? (using linksys wmp11)

you can check if the module is loaded by using 'lsmod' you should see something for wlan0.

otherwise you need to add it in '/etc/modules.conf'

and check if '/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-wlan0' is present

lsmod did nothing (im a noob!)

the alias is set (alias wlan0 prism2_pci) in modules.conf

ifcfg-wlan0 does exist.


any other suggestions? IM MUCH APPRECIATIVE!!!

Still dont have it working right, still can't find the card, anyone have any suggestions? Once i get my wirless up and running i'll no longer have a reason to boot to windows. WOOHOOO!
