Wireless with Suse 10 not working

Hey all,

I have installed Suse 10 on my laptop with a broadcom wireless eth card and am trying to get it work with ndiswrapper....I have successfully installed my windows drivers using ndiswrapper and can see the device (wlan0) with iwconfig and ifconfig...however when I issue the command iwlist wlan0 scan, it doesn't find any networks when there are about 6 in range?! Anyone know why I can't see any wireless networks?

edit: Dang it! just realized there was a wireless forum at the top...

Do you the know the settings for one of the access points around you to manually provide to iwconfig to connect? It might be the driver isn't quite working properly if it's not receiving data correctly. Manually providing an ap and trying to ping should check whether a physical connection can be established. Also, what card is it exactly, and which drivers did you use?

Yeah, but every time I change the essid (the network has no security settings) it doesnt actually change it, it still says essid: off/any...I also tried uninstalling the ndiswrapper that came with suse 10 and installed it manually, but I still can't see any networks!
