wireless setup procedure
I am new to linux and have few questions about wireless networking. It is getting confusing. I setup up my wireless card and it is working but there are few things I would like to understand.
1. I used the network configuration gui under FC2 and an ifcfg-eth1 file has been created one under /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and the other under /etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/
If I want to manuall change the configuration, which file shall I edit. In other words which file gets called when I do /etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart
2. I have seen some people post info about setting up the wireless.opt file so that I can have different schemes and be able to quickly bring up different configurations. Then to bring up the network I should run the /etc/pcmcia restart. My question is which way is appropriate to bring up the network. Should I use "etc/pcmcia restart" or "/etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart. If I use the second option. how can I save different network configuration and load them up when I need for example what should i do if I have a network at home and each one uses different keys
3. On slightly different subject. There are the same files under /etc/rc.d/init.d as in /etc/init.d why is that.
Thank you
